Peter Isherwood

Mr. Isherwood has been the Choral Director and a teacher of Music Theory at Middletown HS North since April of 2004. At MHSN, Mr. Isherwood conducts three curricular and one extra-curricular choirs, teaches Intro to Music and AP Music Theory, and directs the music for the annual Spring Musical. Since 2004, Mr. Isherwood has prepared and conducted the choirs and Pit Orchestra through many great performances, competitions, trips, festivals, and clinics throughout the northeast United States. 

 

After graduating from Westminster Choir College with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and Sacred Music in 2003, Mr. Isherwood began graduate studies in choral conducting, organ, and music theory at Rowan University. Mr. Isherwood earned the Master of Music degree in Music Education at Rutgers University/Mason Gross School of the Arts, and is currently a doctoral student in music at Mason Gross. After beginning piano lessons in the fourth grade, Mr. Isherwood began studying organ in high school, and ultimately studied voice and conducting while in his undergraduate studies. Mr. Isherwood continues to study organ and church music as part of his doctoral work at Mason Gross. In the 2013-2014 school year, Mr. Isherwood was fortunate to receive the "Teacher of the Year" award at Middletown North. During the 2015-2016 school year, Mr. Isherwood conducted the NJ All Shore Chorus. 

 

Mr. Isherwood is active in the National Association for Music Education (NAfME), the American Choral Director's Association (ACDA), the American Guild of Organists (AGO), and the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA). He is currently the vice-president of All-Shore Chorus. 

Chris Sabol  

Mr. Sabol has been the choir, orchestra, and musical theatre teacher at Monmouth Regional High School since 2015. He has musically directed over fifty shows in the tri state area including Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease, In the Heights, Sweeney Todd, The Last Five Years, Spring Awakening, Company, You're A Good Man Charlie Brown, Next to Normal, and RENT. For Monmouth Regional High School, he has musically directed Shrek, Songs for A New World, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Cabaret, Footloose (2016 Basie Award Nomination, Best Musical Direction), and Freaky Friday (2019 Basie Award Nomination, Best Student Pit Orchestra). He is also an active member in NAFME and the NJEA.

 

He is the co-founder of Pivotal Productions, a non-profit theatre organization that strives to give young adults practical experience in the arts as they pursue their professional careers. He is also the co-writer of a new musical, Straight Forward, which is based on a true story. 

 

Mr. Sabol obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Arts Administration from Wagner College, and a Masters of Music Education from Boston University. He is also currently on his doctoral journey at American University in their Education Policy and Leadership Program. He has performed with various music ensembles such as concert and chamber choirs, concert bands, and jazz ensembles. He is currently the President of the New Jersey All Shore Chorus.
