Andre Baldasserini
Biography
Mr. Baldasserini is a graduate of Rutgers University, with a BA in Music and Italian, and has a Master’s in Music Education with honors from Westminster Choir College. He is enjoying a multi-faceted career as an educator, performer, mentor, and director. Mr. ‘B’ has the pleasure of teaching the Vocal Music Academy in addition to Italian 1 & 4, and was the Teacher of the Year in 2015. He currently directs the MRHS Choirs, and enjoys the partnership with the Arcadian Chorale and Marina Alexander very much.
He is the president of the All Shore Choir Directors association, which he conducted in 2015, and also collaborated in conducting the ensemble in 2022. With the Matawan choirs, he has performed at Carnegie Hall doing a world premiere of Ola Gjelo, and at Lincoln Center doing a world premiere of Eric Whitacre. His choir was also awarded the highest scoring ensemble of any choir in Virginia last year, winning the grand prize for the state.
He has performed in Westminster’s Readings and Carols at the Princeton University Chapel, and has performed for Valerie Simpson in the Jubilee Choir. He has performed multiple times at Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. Mr. B has also worked professionally with the Phoenix Production Company at Count Basie Theater, Spring Lake Theater, and The Algonquin Theater. He has just been hired to be the music director for the spring musicals at Shore Regional High School. Mr. Baldasserini was awarded two consecutive Count Basie Awards for Outstanding Ensemble in a Musical, and was elated to be part of the staff that won the Basie for overall Best Musical for Honeymoon in Vegas.
